Jameson Irish Whiskey – Review

Jameson Irish Whiskey

Jameson Irish Whiskey was a gift from a friend and my first introduction to Irish whiskey.

I was immediately taken a back with how incredibly light and smooth it was the very first taste.  I’ve been hooked ever since!

From the Jameson Distillery
Jameson Irish Whiskey is t
riple distilled, twice as smooth, one of a kind.  Jameson Irish Whiskey is a blended Irish whiskey. What’s that we hear you say. Well first we take the best of pot still and fine grain whiskeys.

Then we triple distil them – not because we have to because we want to as it gives it its signature smoothness. Finally, we age them in oak casks for a minimum of 4 years.

Nose and Taste
A light floral fragrance, peppered with spicy wood and sweet notes.  The perfect balance of spicy, nutty and vanilla notes with hints of sweet sherry and exceptional smoothness.

Country: Ireland
Beginning: Since 1780
Alcohol: 40%
Tasting Profile: Smooth Irish Whiskey
Packaging: Glass
Closure: Screw Top

Murlo Notes: I immediately enjoyed Jameson Irish Whiskey given its light smooth body and hint of grain flavour.  Those who feel they need to mix their whiskey with soda or water will find this whiskey is great on its own over ice.

Murlo had booked a tour to the Jameson Distillery at Bow St. in Dublin for March 2020.  We had to cancel due to the pandemic.  We definitely look forward to rescheduling at a later date!
