
There are many Hot Buttered Rum recipes out there. Our recipe amounts for this Hot Buttered Rum have been modified over the years to suit our tastes. It is a definite hit with family and friends during the Christmas season! I use Captain Morgan Black Spice Rum so be careful of the velvet glove!
Ingredients
.5 cup butter (unsalted)
1 cup Dark Spiced Rum*
2/3 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg*
1/8 tsp ground cloves
4 -5 cups of boiling water
* amounts will vary based on personal taste preference.
Directions
1. Mix together butter, sugar, spices, rum, water and stir together in a slow cooker.
2. Cook for a couple of hours on medium heat with the lid on.
3. Any unused portion can be refrigerated and reheated.
