Peppermint Bark Hot Chocolate

This hot chocolate recipe is rich and delicious.

This drink can be enjoyed for the Holiday season or anytime on a cold Canadian winter evening next to the fireplace!

8 c. whole milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3 c. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 c. crème de menthe or vodka (optional)
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. peppermint extract
1/4 tsp. salt
Sweetened whipped cream
Christmas Sprinkles on top (optional)

1. Place milk, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, crème de menthe, vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and salt in a 7-quart slow cooker.

2.  Cover and cook on high 2 hours or until combined, whisking vigorously halfway through to help chocolate melt.

3. Switch to warm for serving. Add canned whipped cream and for a festive topping Christmas sprinkles on top and a candy cane for garnish.

Tip: Lumps may form in the slow cooker.  It is recommended to use a handheld mixer or whisk to break lumps before serving.
