
A simple quick and tasty dinner for 4
Ingredients
7 1/2 cups finely sliced green cabbage
3 sausages. Pepperettes, or mild Italian work well
1 Tbsp caraway seed
2 Tbsp butter
3/4 cup cream (half and half or heavy)
1 Tbsp butter
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Slice sausage on an angle into 1/2 inch slices. Into a large frying pan with a lid, place the first portion of butter and the sausage over medium heat. Add the caraway seed (the heat will bring out the flavour). Once the meat is almost done add the sliced cabbage. The pan will be full, but try to mix everything together. Cover and allow the cabbage to shrink down. Stir periodically. Once the cabbage is tender add the cream. Stir well and allow the creamed mixture to cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the last portion of butter and serve.
