To keep the sweater cohesive and to eliminate any heavy bulky areas the sweater will be completed with an I-cord cast off.
Begin by picking up stitches along the right front of the sweater and knitting them. Pick up 2 stitches for every 3 along the front edge. Knit 3 stitches into the corner stitch near the neck. This will make a nice neat corner. This can be done by knitting a stitch, do not drop then knit into the back of the stitch , do not drop , then knit into the front of the stitch again. This will make the 3 stitches. Now knit across the neck stitches, knitting 3 stitches into the left front neck corner. Knit into every 2 out of 3 stitches down the left front. Knit one row. The following row complete the I-cord cast off as shown in the video.
Now sew up the armhole stitches and work in all the loose ends. The sweater can be left without buttons, or you can knit short I-cord loops to have a button up sweater.
A video has been added to our channel to accompany these instructions.
