Christmas is a busy season for entertaining. Having a healthy fun appetizer geared toward children and young at heart is a great addition.
They’re easy to assemble so get the kids involved making them.
This fun idea is not new and is everywhere on the internet. At Murlo, we decided to give this treat a try. It was a hit with our guests. All gone in no time!
Ingredients
Miniature white marshmallows
Fresh strawberries
Fresh large seedless grapes
Banana
7.5 – 8 inch skewers **
Lemon juice (optional)
Directions
1. Wash all fruit ahead of time and allow to dry.
2. Cut across the top of the strawberries to eliminate the stem and create a nice flat surface.
3. Cut a banana in 1/3 inch thick slice.
4. Place in a shallow amount of lemon juice. This will keep the banana from browning.
5. Add Marshmallow, strawberry, banana and grape on the skewer.
Murlo Notes:
1. Lemon juice was applied to the banana to slow the browning process while they sat out during our event. After 4-5 hours the colour was still preserved.
2. Our skewers we used regular 12 inch long skewers cut down to 7.5 inches lengths.
